Happy July, friends! I hope everyone enjoyed their Fourth of July celebrations and continues to have great summer vacations. I also want to acknowledge and bless those who have faced the challenges of Hurricane Beryl and other weather-related disturbances challenging our country this season. Now, more than ever, is a time to keep believing. Every day, we all face so much uncertainty. In times of stress, we must come together and strengthen our resilience and resolve. We have several exciting opportunities on the horizon to engage NAON’s mission. Watch your email for surveys and requests to expand our committees to include vendor development, ASC education and guideline development and the continued development of the special interest groups that will support member engagement and networking. We continue to work with regional chapters to identify opportunities for in person opportunities. The Executive Board is hard at work building NAON’s future direction. We are all ambassadors for NAON and I encourage you to share the value of orthopaedic nursing with all your colleagues and encourage them to join NAON. We are better together so keep believing in our future. 

NAON’s Annual business meeting was held on July 17^th, we had twenty-three members in attendance. A recording of the meeting is in the Association News section of this NAON news. Elizabeth Turcotte, Treasurer gave an excellent financial review and outlook. 

Next Year’s Congress is NAON’ s 45^th. This is reason use to celebrate the value of the orthopaedic nurse. I encourage you to submit a podium or poster presentation This is your opportunity to share your knowledge and expertise on the latest best practices, research or innovative solutions from your hospital or practice. The Call for Podium Proposals will remain open through August 19, 2024. The call for Posters will remain open through September 16, 2024.

As we continue to build our membership plan do not forget about the new organizational membership Hospital systems, physician offices, ambulatory surgery centers and business organizations that employ orthopaedic nurses and allied health professionals who are interested in orthopaedic nursing and have over 5 current and/or potential members are eligible for the organizational membership.
