October is an exciting month full of cooler temperatures and the fall season. October also holds a few days of awareness including breast cancer, mental health and our amazing Orthopaedic Nurse Week October 28- November 1, 2024. The International Orthopaedic Nurses Day on October 30th was started back in 1990 by President George Bush. We celebrate during this time all of the work that is done in our community each day and it is nice to see others recognize our “bone-fied” heros!
We love our orthopaedic team and here are some of the tips of practicing gratitude for others:
1. Write it down- Having words of gratitude written reminds us of those moments that something touched our hearts.
2. Be specific- What can you be grateful for? Family, health, friends, colleagues, beautiful sky
3. Redirect- If feeling negative, step back and breathe. Can you shift your focus or do you need to take a break? Both are OK.
4. Share your appreciation and gratitude with others- Sending a note of appreciation and care might just make someone’s day! Never underestimate your ability to be the light even in a dark situation.
Thank you and have a wonderful October and International Orthopaedics Day on October 30th!
