There’s Still Time to Recertify
If you missed the recertification deadline of June 30, 2024, there is still time to recertify. Recertification applications will be accepted with a postmark between July 1 and September 30, 2024 with a $50 late fee. All continuing education, however, must have been earned before June 30, 2024. The late fee will be added to the required payment when submitting through LearningBuilder. Certificants using paper applications should add the $50 to the regular fee.

What Nurses Need to Know About Metadata, Documentation and Legal Liability

Metadata analysis of information in a patient’s electronic health record (EHR) has the potential to provide valuable information to attorneys in the case of a lawsuit. Movement Is Life Blog: Social Risk and Osteoarthritis

Charla B. Johnson, DNP, RN, NI-BC, ONC, FNAON

Outpatient clinics and hospitals are challenged with addressing health equity in a meaningful way. The Center’s of Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) have mandated the reporting Social Determinants of Health quality measures on patients 18 and older during an inpatient encounter. Osteoarthritis is the most common form of arthritis affecting one in seven U.S. adults. Individuals with four or more social risk factors are significantly more likely to have arthritis. In addition, patients report higher rates of activity limitations in work, social, and usual activities with multiple social risk factors. Severe joint pain was reported among those with higher social risk factors. Orthopaedic leaders can connect with the population they serve to find value in screening for social risks.

Movement is Life is opening registration for the Annual Health Equity Summit. This years theme is “Health Equity: Solutions form Healthcare Leaders”. The summit will take place November 14 – November 15, 2024 in Atlanta, GA at The Whitley. MIL welcomes orthopaedic nurses!
