Clinical Practice Guideline for Thromboembolic Disease Prevention
The NAON Clinical Practice Guideline for Thromboembolic Disease Prevention provides nurses with evidence-based information that assists in the identification of populations at risk for thromboembolic disease as well as provides evidence-based interventions aimed at prophylaxis and prevention.
This CPG addresses pathophysiology, assessment (including physical exam), risk identification, diagnostic tests and medical and nursing management of the patient with deep vein thrombosis and pulmonary embolism. It also includes a section on nursing diagnosis, nursing interventions and patient and family education.
